2011 Spring Kids for Sale!

** UPDATE ON 8/26/2011 - One of our buyers changed her mind and didn't pick up the goats she reserved.  Therefore, #1106 is again available.  Contact me if you are interested.  **

We had a very successful kidding season.  There are a total of 12 kids on the ground - 8 females and 4 males.  For simplicity, I will refer to them by their tag # - they will have ear tags numbered in the order they were born (the tag starts with 11 for the year 2011, followed by 01 through 12).

All will have horns except #1109 because we do not disbud (dehorn).  We do have one breeding buck who is polled (naturally hornless) so usually 50% of his offspring will also be polled.  This year the statistics didn't work out that way!

All can be registered with the Myotonic Goat Registry (MGR).  Females are $250, breeding males are $150, and wethers (neutered) males are $100.  You can choose any of the males listed as either breeders or wethers.

Many goat breeders will not sell just one goat unless you have another at home, and we agree with this practice.  Goats are herd animals and need the company of other goats to be happy and healthy.

The first kid was born in January and is wethered and ready to go to his new home.  His name (for now - you can change it if you buy him) is Obi, and he is black and white and very sweet.  He is kid #1101 (not pictured here).
The rest were born between April 13 and May 3.

#1102 (photo above) is another black and white male whose mother does not faint even though she is a full blooded registered myotonic goat.  He has also not shown any true stiffness or fainting yet.  Can be sold as a wether or a breeding buck - VERY friendly!  We are also considering selling his mother, Lottie, as a pet for $150.  *BOTH SOLD*

#1103 (male in front) and #1104 (female in back) are beautifully marked tri-colors out of one of our best does.  The female could be sold as a breeding pair with #1108 below.

More shots of #1103 (on the right) and #1104 (on the left)

#1105 SOLD (white with red ears) and #1106 AVAILABLE (solid red with white speckles on ears) are twin girls.

#1107 - female will likely be retained for our flock.
#1108 - male SOLD.  Twin to #1107 above.  Rejected by his mother, so is being bottle raised.  He is so friendly he will make a super pet as a wether, or could be sold as a breeding pair with #1104 above.

#1109 - female twin "Lady Gaga".  *SOLD* The only polled (naturally hornless) kid this year.  Has some brown spots also, so is technically a tri-color.
#1110 - female.  Gaga's twin *SOLD*
#1111 (on the right - SOLD) and #1112 (left - SOLD) - twin females.  Will be sold as pets for $100 each and will not be registered because they are the result of accidental inbreeding.  They are healthy, spunky and very friendly.  Also will probably be smaller than average.
#1112 - SOLD side view
